Affordable Tall Boots
So since I don't seem to stay riding the same horse for very long, I've decided to put my funds towards equipment for myself rather than the horse for now. My budget is VERY small. I'm looking for a pair of affordable tall boots... preferably under $250. I never remember which is called which but I know it's not field boots... the ones without laces. I will be trying to use them for eventing. Dress boots?

I have looked at some, but of course they're all crappy and will rub my ankles raw. So I thought this couldnt hurt. Anyone know of decent boots for a cheap budget? I don't need them to stand a terrible amount of. I would be riding in my half chaps for schooling and would just need these for shows.

What about these? - Dafna Long Rubber Rinding Boot

They're in my budget but the rubber makes me think they're for mucking more than anything else. Am I kidding myself that I can get boots usable for showing under $250?

Something in or with shipping to NZ would be awesome, but if not I can have it shipped to my parents and have them send it to me.

I had rubber riding boots. They lasted me for 10 years (some of them not riding). The only problem with them....they aren't as flexible as leather, so you can not get your heels down as much. I found my position improved greatly after switching to paddock boots/half chaps for schooling.

The tall boots I have we not cheap at $300....but I do not expect to have to replace them any time soon, barring any mishaps or weight gains. It was not what I was expecting to pay when I went to go shopping for them, but it was worth the investment. It is better to spend the little bit extra and not worry about having to replace them sooner. There should be boots out there that are within your price rainge, it just might take a lot more looking.

I think I saw that Dover had some tall boots in their clearance section....??

what size are you? I have a pair of leather zip field boots that I put on consignment at a local tack shop. I can pull them out and send them to you.

I'm not sure on the size...

I have a 14.5" calf and heel to knee measures 17". My normal shoe size is about a 7.5

If I'm reading the chart right, I think that puts me at either an ariat short regular.

How much are you asking for them?

Velvet: With the rubber boots did you have problems with them rubbing on your ankles and heel?

I dont think I ever had that problem...? They do end up stretching out a smidge, but not as much as what leather does.

Too bad you aren't my size, I have a pair of Ariat Tall Boots that I'd send with all the other stuff I am sending your way - but they are a size 10, and

I love Mountain Horse Boots soooo very much!

I have these boots:

Dover Saddlery | Mountain Horse Sportive High Rider II Tall Boots .

And I use them for everything * show wise*

Ok...I got a little picture happy....I'm sorry.........BUT the point is, I love these boots, they go through a beating through hellllllllllllllllll, and they are still going strong! And I can get them at cost for you too, which is much cheaper than what places like Dover are asking.
