i cant get my cub strap to attach to my bit. I have a curb strap like this:
Every time I attach it, I can't get the buckles to secure over the bit properly. The metal squares at in front of the bit holding it in place, I can't get mine to do that!
No one knows? Jeesh, I feel silly. I've never had trouble using a curb strap before, I guess because they've always come attached.
Ooooh, i'll help, but it might take a sec, i have to go fetch my camera, and my curb strap, sorry i don't have the metals but i'll replace them w/ bright rubber bands :D
Ok, so i start by laying my curb strap on the ground, so that when it's finished the buckly will be on the top side, like below
then put the first metal thing by the buckle like so.....
then put the curb through the bit
and then through the metal under the other leather part
then put on the next metal
then feed the leather through the bit
and then through the leather on top of the other one
and now it should work, enless you twisted one end, which happens a lot in snaffles (if you are using a snaffle) but just redo it...
it should look like this
Hope this helps!!
It helped except my metal squares won't fit over the buckle. Is that a flaw or what? :| Well thank you.
ooops, the first two pics the rubber band is on the wrong side of the bit...... sorry  that might make a difference
wait, now i'm confusing myself...... ok get it to look like the first one... then flip the buckle part on top... and then put the bottom leather through the metal..... ignore my statement about the thing being on the wrong side.... i'm a bit out of it today
hmmm, i'll go take another pic
I think i've got it but it doesn't look quite right... :?
