Sore from bit
I'm not sure what section it should go, so I placed it in two.
It's really hard to explain, but I'll try... :)
I use german silver french eggbutt on my horse. I noticed recently that somehow one side of mouth (left) gets very wet. Not quite mouth, but skin right behind the mouth. Looks like it's get wet and bit kinda rubbing it. No sores as of yet, and I cleaned the skin with the wet napkin afterwards and put some vet cream, but it concerns me. Is it normal? Should I do something to prevent it?
If its only on one side then somthing is not even somewere. Wether its the bit being uneven in the horses mouth, the bridle or your hand pressure on the horses mouth.
Get some one experienced to ckeck your bridle and bit are correctly fitted, then ask if they can watch your hand position when you ride.
Start with that and see how you go.
make sure the bit is the right size. You should be able to fit one finger on each side of the bit when it's in the horses mouth. There should be one - one and a half folds in the horses mouth...two folds is fine, but nooo more than that.
