I am a big fan of Frog Pond Draft Rescue. I've been approved to adopt and once we have a trailer we'll be picking through what they have. They are located in Cambridge Ohio but also have horses in Michigan and Pennsylvania (I believe).

You can like them on facebook. They keep their facebook more up to date than there website because of the amount of followers.
Welcome to Facebook
They have monthly auctions for fundraising.
Welcome to Facebook
They always have a lot of nice stuff going.
They currently have the following horses available for adoption:
Lotto is a huge Belgain gelding who is currently being treated for Canker sores. Even though he has went through treatments he is still a gentle giant. He wears a size 10 shoe! Fee to be issued once released.
Jasper is 16h and 20 something. He is currently on rest because a farrier did a hack job and cut off half his hoof trying to treat founder. He is walking sound and should be ready to go in Spring.
Jester is a return to the rescue. He is a 3 year old pinto gelding. His fee right now is $100!
Noah is a stunning 12.2h Haflinger gelding. He can be hard to catch but once caught is easy to get along with. $225
Ellie May is a 16h draft mule. Kid and road safe. Can't beat this deal with a stick! If I had the money I'd be all over her. $600
They have a few more.
I absolutely love Lotto. If I was in the market for another horse he would be it, even with his hoof problems. I didn't know they had Ellie May. She is beautiful. Better not show her to my husband, he would want her. LOL!!! Frog Pond is a pretty good rescue organization from what I have seen so far.
They just got her but I don't think she'll last long!
Thanks for posting this Joe.
I would like to add a rescue owned by two dear friends of mine. They have a wonderful (legal 501 (c) (3) Public Charity) rescue, in the lower Hudson Valley. NY. They specialize in the rescue and placement of Polo Ponies, but also have TBs, various Drafts and others. All horses are carefully vetted, brought back to perfect health again if necessary and later evaluated under saddle, as to whether they will again be excellent Polo mounts, or become wonderful mounts for those who do not play the game. Almost of these horses, have had a lot of training, at some point in their lives.
If you seek a Polo Pony, (mostlyTBs or TB crosses) or just a well trained horse for pleasure, do have a look at their website. They also have other horses for adoption on their website.
I have known these ladies, the work they do and their beautiful farm, for several years now. They are extremely knowledgeable in all areas of equine health and care and have been used by some of the largest farms in the US, for lay-ups and care of injured horses.
I'd like to add a rescue, they are friends of ours, I donated my horse to them when he had a tendon injury and I wanted a good home for him. They rescue from auctions and take donated horses often. We go and see them about once a year and its amazing to see the difference in some of their horses. They are located in PA, they are Back in the Saddle Horse Adoption, Inc - HOME.
I'd like to add a rescue to this too. The only horse rescue in North Dakota. Well, the only registered horse rescue. There are a couple here that claim to be, but aren't.
HHH Miniature Horse Rescue is a not-for-profit 501 c(3) charity that is dedicated to rescue efforts, care, nurturing and rehabilitation of miniature equine.
They work with other agencies all over the US rescuing miniature horses. They specialize in miniatures and ponies, but have helped other horses in the past (donkeys and mules too!). They have quite a few that are available for adoption right now. :-)
Triple H has their own Facebook page too. Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue Fan Club | Facebook
I adopted my mare Blossom through them. Actually I foster for them and ended up adopting Blossom after she had been here for awhile.
I'd like to add Pure Thoughts Inc. (501c3 non profit) in Loxahatchee, Florida.

I adopted Bourbon, my 6yo (Oops, new year. He's 7 now!) OTTB from them and they are wonderful! They have so many amazing horses and the adoption fees are extremely reasonable!
omg totally in love with Tucker from that rescue in florida!
I wouldn't add any rescues in my area. Most are frauds and breeding with their "rescued" stallion to their "rescued" grade mares does nothing to help in anyone taking them seriously.
My mom shows me pictures of their horses all the time because she knows the people that own it. They've got some cuties.
However, if I had the money for it, I would snatch Ellie May in a heartbeat. I love mules and she is so adorable. I'm going to be so envious of the lucky person who gets her.
