Strange circular wound on back pastern

My 3yo gelding has a strange egg shaped scabby spot on this back leg. The BM thinks it might just be a scrape. The fur is falling out inside it, and there isn't any redness, just a scabby outline of a oval...any ideas?

A photo may help us to identify it....

First thing that comes to mind based on the description is ringworm, but pictures would help a lot.

(here's a stock photo of ringworm lesions)

I will take pics tomorrow. I thought it might be ringworm but he still have fur on the inside of the circle.... so not sure

It could be proudflesh, I found something similar on my mares foot...I got her 3 months ago and she had a tiny cut on her pastern and I mistakenly forgot about it thinking it was nothing, she now has proudflesh...I have gotten proudsoff and am going to try that as soon as it arrives in the mail (hard to find around my place) it is supposed to remove even older proudlfesh.

She has a dry bump, so it may not be the same thing, but it's a thought anyways...

here is a pic of the wound...I am thinking it may just be a scrape after all

Yup, that does look like a normal cut/scrape to me, nothing more concerning!
