Respect games?

Alright - I'm training a 5 y/o green hunter pony. I rode him two days ago, and he ended up getting frustrated & throwing me off over his head (we were playing follow-my-trainer at a canter). He also is very impatient, much like my own horse. I can handle it, but this pony has no respect. So, I figure I'll go out to do a day of groundwork on Monday. Then maybe a 10 minute w/t ride. I know I'm going to put him in the round pen to work on our vocal cues. I might lunge him in the ring over oxers. He's jumped small cross bars, but I would like to see how he'd take a jump from the ground before I ride him over it.

I know I want to play the friendly game, the porcupine game, circling game, squeeze game, and maybe sidepassing. I need ideas. Please help? (: I'll post pictures. He's a cuuuuute little Welsh cross. I'll be his main rider, since I'm "the perfect pony jockey", so my trainer says. :]

Sounds like you have an idea of games to play. I don't know those games, but whatever you do with him rememeber to keep your eye on him and evaluate whether or not he is really giving you his attention, or going through the "game" by rote while still worrying about what' outside the arena, or still running over you, or just moving off, but dragging his feet while doing it.
It HOW he does these things that matter, Imean the attitude and the focus, on YOU.

I know, I took 3 parelli classes. ;) about 2 years ago. I have a video I'm going to watch to refresh my memory.

I wanted to share Little Chris with everyone. Isn't he a unique gray?

He IS cute, you too! I will love to hear how your work progresses.
UM, kind of off subject, but you look like you might be more comfortable if you dropped your stirrups a notch or two.. You leg is very clost to the bottom edge of the saddle flap, Is saddle too big for you?

I've had my stirrups on the very first hole for two years, haha. I feel fine in them. I'm riding my pony today, so I'll check them then.
