New Trial Saddle! Antares Hampton Classic
Well, we went to Rick's tonight with my 30 pictures and multiple tracings. I have looked at (and sat in) the Hampton Classic every time I walk in there for months. I assumed we would be looking at customer Frenchies tonight with a price tag twice that of the Hampton. So, when the fitter looked at all of Zee's pics and tracings, then looked at the saddle I've been using, the first saddle she suggested was the Hampton! It really does have the flattest panels for a better fit in the back compared to any of the other off the rack saddles. We took a PJ Delgrange original too, just to compare, but I think the gullet is going to be too narrow towards the back of the saddle.
I won't be able to try it on him til tomorrow :( I am praying it fits! Does anyone have a Hampton, or has anyone ridden in one? I've only seen the new ones, so I don't really know how they feel after they break in. I'd love to hear what everyone thinks of them!
Antares is one of my all time favorite saddle brands! I've sat in a Hampton Classic but haven't ridden in one. I liked it. But if I remember correctly the HC is just the non-custom version, correct? I owned a custom Antares for several months that I bought used and I looooved it. Unfortunately it didn't really fit me, couldn't find a used one in my size and price range, and I didn't have the money to buy a new one. I ended up with a Delgrange but I do remember the Antares and drool....
Yes, the Hampton is their "off the shelf" model. It doesn't quite compare to a custom, but for the price difference, it's well worth it! It fits Zee closer than any other off the shelf saddle without going the custom route! They hold their value unbelieveably well, and after they break in, they look exactly like any other Antares. Now I just have to find one in my size... I'm so impatient!
