You say that you are 'only 17' but you should be very proud, you are doing great. She looks lovely. Congrats for all the hard work you have put in.

It is a lucky pony that ends up with a hardworking, loving teenager.

I like her very much. Confo wise she's a well put together, correct individual who will be athletic enough to do pretty much whatever you want.

The photos of her moving aren't great for critique, but it looks like she has nice length of stride and moves under herself well. (I can't really tell if she tracks up or overtracks from these photos) She moves much more like a hunter than a western horse, so I'm glad to see that's the direction you're going with her.

In the over fences photo, she's showing quite spectacular form with her front end, with her forearm well above horizontal. She's not quite even in front, but I would bet you could correct that with some gymnastics. She's jumping round, and with a lovely, ideal, hunter expression - alert but calm. She has engaged and pushed off her hind end absolutely evenly, which you don't often see in a green pony.

I would like to see you tweak your form over fences. You have dramatically over released, which has pulled your whole upper body forward and down. You are executing your crest release well otherwise. I would much prefer to see a rider overrelease than under release, but I would like to see your hands between 1/3 and 1/2 the way up the neck (instead of the 2/3 shown here.) just a little in front of the martingale strap. Then you can lift your upper body up and away from her neck. Your crotch is still over the center of your saddle and your back is flat and relaxed with your eye up, all terrific.

You look a little loose in the tack - lower leg has come off and slid back, and there's some daylight between the saddle and your knee and thigh. Work without stirrups is the fix here, and perhaps riding with your stirrups tied to girth to recreate a correct muscle memory.

Overall, my impression is of an athletic, sympathetic self taught rider. I would love to have you as a student, with a little more polish, you could go far.

Your pony is adorable and has a lot of potential for the hunters or even perhaps jumpers.

Two final notes - why the pelham, and why the martingale? Looks like a lot of tack for what appears to be a willing and cooperative pony.

You are jumping this little fence backward of the way it's set, you should be jumping so the groundline is towards you. Doesn't appear to have bothered your pony at all, but it can be a problem for a greener horse. Best to put a ground line on both sides of the fence if you're going to jump it in both directions.
