Can you put a noseband on a bit yourself?

The reason I ask is my baby works better with a noseband and its amazing how much less the same bit costs without a noseband. Thank you guys, I know its got to be a dumb question, but I really don't know :/

you mean a bridle?

equiniphile 01-19-2011 08:19 PM

What are you referring to? A bridle attaches to a bit and reins, and there is a noseband also that can be left on or off, depending on the discipline.

sorry for not specifying, I run the barrels, to western. Im talking about the rope nosebands that are put onto the bit, not a tie down or anything like that, im talking about attatched to the bit itself.

like this, can you attatch your own noseband to a bit like this

Ray MacDonald 01-19-2011 08:39 PM

Oh I get it now! Well I'm sure you could if you had the right bit to be able to attach it too, meaning a hole or loop in the bit. It would have to be the right kind of material though, as you don't want your horse getting rubbed by it.

yeah, i can weld a rind onto one. I wrap my nosebands anyways, Im just wondering how hard it would be to try to do that weird tie they do to attatch the rope to the rings......

They sell rope nose bands. Don't ask me where we bought one at a tack stand once it attachs to any bit. You could try to find one
