jumping a m, any tips?

the other day it jumped just over a metre for the first time :D it might not be alot but its a big accoplishment for my group and me, as it was the first for all of us. However does anyone have any tips on jumping a metre? when i jumped that height i came right out of the saddle, i just think it was the first time jumping that height so i was a bit out of it. I luckly didnt fall and was able to recover and get away safely lol. any tips on postion etc? thanks

Your position should be the same for every fence

-heels down
-eyes up
-release

Congrats on jumping that hieght :D

thanks :D i think that my heels were coming up and that was my problem. i had to kick after the first jump to encourage the horse i was riding to jump the m, so i think my position was all over the place. thanks for the tips :D

Just remember, a jump is only a longer, higher stride.. nothing to get freaked out about. Keep you position steady and you'll be fine.
