Anyone have info about Zeus, German Hanoverian Stallion?
 

I'm trying to research a bit of information about Zee's daddy, Zeus. I know he was quite a successful stallion, producing a ton of great jumping offspring. Surprisingly, I haven't been able to find a ton of information, or even a picture, online. Does anyone have any good links or information about him?

I did find a pic of one of his half brothers. Holy wow! Many of Zeus' offspring have the wierd blazes... This one looks so much like Zee!

BTW, that's Zalza in the first picture and Galadriel in the second.

I'm trying to get confirmation, but I think I just found a video of Zeus! I need to pull Zee's papers and double check his sire's bloodline...

That first picture you posted, the spot in the blaze looks like a heart.

But if the stallion is in Germany, then it might be tough finding info about him, because most of the websites are in German.

I tried to find info of my mare and the babies she had, she is from Holland, and I had a hard time. All the websites that had anything to do with her were in a different language.

He is not Hannovarian.

Born 1972--died 1981.

Sire is Anglo Arab Arlequin
Dam is Urielle by Matador

Failed his 1975 grading at the KWPN but passed the Oldenburg grading and came second in his performance testing.

Wouldn't he have been required to be accepted into the Hanoverian society? If Zee is a branded and numbered Hano, doesn't that mean that both parents had to be Hanoverians as well? Interesting...

BTW, I think that was a typo above. He died in 2001.

The Hanoverian studbook is the hardest of all warmblood studbooks to be accepted into.

It may be possible he was "approved" based on his performance and offspring but he was not born Hanoverian.

Thanks Spyder! I'll have to do some more digging. If this is the correct Zeus (which I'm pretty sure it is), it makes it a little more interesting and I'd love to find out when & how he was approved, and try to track down any other half or full siblings that are registered Hano. The similarities in appearance between Zee and some of the other Zeus offspring is truly remarkable, even the facial expressions!
