Mare Cleaning [sensative areas] help!
Okay I know you have to clean a gelding sheath with Sheath soap. What about mares??? I know chances teets probably have a ton of dried mud and gunk around there. Is there something I have to clean it with or just water with dulited soap? Ive been working my way down there and shes been real quite about it, didnt mind me useing a soft brush [[face]] around her thighs or anything and even around it is pretty gross so I know it must feel bad for her in those areas. Thxs :D

Same as Ginger... just a towel and some warm water. I clean them until they feel like silk. :) Thankfully both of my mares have never minded me cleaning this area.

I do the same as both of you guys. :D Just warm water & a nice towel.
Haha, Lexi doesn't really mind, I think she likes getting cleaned anyway.

i try and do it once a week but i dont know if thats the recommended time its just how often i do it. sometimes more. especially of late because she has a shaggy baggy winter coat already and whenever we ride its still kinda warm during the days so she sweats heaps. most days i hose her down after a ride so i hose in there as well. then once a week when she has her proper bath i do it with the soapy water. ive found that since i do hose down there three or four times a week there is very little to clean up with the soapy water so the process is quicker for her especially seeing as she isnt a fan of the whole cleaning there process :)
just a side note, dont forget about her other girl area. i think that gets missed a lot and it gets pretty yukky there if you dont keep it clean. same method but i use really really mild warm soapy water with a sponge and a rubber glove ;)

If I'm giving them a bath I clean between the teets with water. Otherwise I just use my fingers to kinda peel/rub out the gunk. Be careful when you do it. Once in awhile I get a squeel and one will attempt to kick. All my girls like it once they figure out what I'm doing, I think it must feel good. I do it about once a week.
I have to add, DON"T under any circumstances smell your fingers after you do this. Its awful. Yes, I know you will

LMAO vida! I wouldnt even think about it xD I dont think chance has ever been cleaned in those areas for quite a while. Since its really starting to warm up in a few weeks, Ill bring with me 2 face cloths and put some soap in a bucket full of water and start cleaning those areas. lol just a question. Could you use like duluted mane 'n tail shampoo???
