Putting weight on your horse?
My 22 year old, 16.1h, Appendix has always been hard to keep weight on at this age and I have tried various combinations, prior to putting him on a current regiment of Super Gain and Allegra.
He is getting two, four ounce servings per day of Horseguard's "Super Gain" for a total of eight ounces per day along with; two, five lb servings of Allegra Cadence, for a total of 10 lbs per day, which is suggested by Allegra. Along with these he is also been switched to a high quality hay, 2nd cutting Orchards Grass.
I've had suggestions all over the scalle of how much of this, how much of that to give him but they are just opinions so, I wanted to write and get some insight on this current regiment.
Is the 8 ounces of Super gain along with 10 lbs of Allegra Cadence too much? Some have suggested I increase it further but I don't feel good increasing any more than what I am already giving.

Can you try feeding him alfalfa instead of grass?
