Yippee, he's riding!!!
I have been riding all my life so sometimes I just assume that everyone loves it like I do. I have had horses around for both my sons SINCE THEY WERE LITTLE (ages 13 and 17) and neither have seemed interested UNTIL..... my oldest son, Cole, met a group of girls(that he wants to impress) at his school and they like to ride. Now every Sunday they get together and ride. He thinks he's a regular Clint Eastwood now. That just goes to prove the old saying: NEVER UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF A WOMAN!!

Oh my gosh... Aren't they cute at that age...My oldest daughter is 13 and its hillarious to see what the boys will do to try to impress the little ladies!

That's great! Hopefully he doesn't lose interest in riding when he loses interest in that group of girls. :D

He should thank you for giving him the horse knowledge as a child to help him get girls as a teenager.

I am hoping that this new love last a lifetime. There are so many negative things that teens can get pulled into nowadays. I learned a lot of life lessons by riding and caring for the family horses. Once I remember that my family sat down for supper and my dad ask me if I had fed the horses. I sad no, and that I had forgotten but that I would do it first thing in the morning. Calmly, my dad said "Are you going to eat your supper in the morning?" No sir, I said. Then he said "don't put another morsel in your mouth until you get up and go feed those horses. They are depending on you for their food" It has been probably 35 years but I have never forgotten that. I learned that when someone or something is depending on you you have to deliver. I hope all the teens that post on these boards realize how important the bonds they form with their horses are. You are learning more about life than you know. It will definetly make you a better person. By living with and caring for ALL my animals I feel that I am a better mother. I think it has taught me how to love, how to be compassionate and patient and how to find joy in the small things. Well I will get off of my soapbox now. Just wanted to put my two cents worth in.

Thats wonderful! When I get married and have my own children, I plan to get my kids into horses if I can. Horses teach a child soooo much about life and hard work. Would keep them out of trouble.

Good for him! He understands the working of a women's mind
