Not terrible, but looks as though you've pinched with your knees, causing your lower leg to swing back and heel to rise a little bit. Also looks like you might be a bit ahead of the jump there as well. You're a little low on his neck - did you by any chance cross over from hunters?

Overall you look very secure in your tack, your horse is jumping beautifully and has a great expression - well done :).

Do you have any more pictures from chatt?Surprisingly I've never done chatt before. Been to pretty much every other event in SC, GA and NC though! I plan to take my greenie to chatt in April. Will only be his 3rd recognized event, so just curious how the XC course runs!

chatt hills tend to max levels out. it is a very out in the open course with little to no woods. lovly rolling hill. FAST course time flies there. love the big solid obtacles the barns are really nice and new too! the arenas are also the bomb-digidy  go to hoof clix .com and look under chatt hills. tons of pics! LOVE THAT PLACE!!! GO CARL BOUCHART!!!!

It's difficult to critique with a 3/4 shot, but I would agree - you LOOK good, but your position seems very non-functional for cross country. The photo is a picture of "perfection" when everything goes right - nice form, good knees, matched pair, but you don't look as if you'd stand a chance if it all went wrong. You're extremely "forward", very much in hunter position. I am not bashing hunter, but it's a discipline based on "posing" which it looks like you're doing. That's not to say hunter riders are NOT effective, but the stakes obviously change when you're hurtling at a 3'0" solid object that's not going anywhere when you hit it.

I would work on getting that leg more stable and underneath you, and off your horses neck. The position over cross country fences has to be a lot more defensive and not so passive. Obviously you're not at a level where it requires SUCH a forward leg as you see at upper levels, but it's a habit you'll have to start getting into it and really moving away from all that hunter teaching.

Yep, just a little bit ahead of the horse for xc. Just sit back and wait for the jump. Your horse looks very game. I like him and you are otherwise lookin' good!
