Critique my girl
Ok, I've already posted pictures of my colt up and got a lot of good feedback, so now I'd appreciate it if you would please critique my mare. As with my colt, I want to know ALL her faults and how to fix what is fixable. Tear her to shreds, I want to know what you think! She's the best horse I could have ever asked for, IMO, and I love her like she is and wouldn't change her for anything in the world! These pictures are kind of dark, sorry about that.
Also, her one front leg, her left hoof does curve inwards. It's not for lack of a good farrier, the vet said that it's not fixable because apparently the bone in her leg is twisted and makes her hoof grow that way in order to keep balanced and pain free... or something like that... I forget all the details... but it doesn't bother her at all.
Oh, also... she hasn't seen the farrier since January, so her hooves do need a trim. I'm planning on getting the farrier out next weeks sometime.
Oh, one other thing... yes, she's lacking a lot of muscle because she hasn't been ridden since February and she loses muscle FAST when she's out of work... and yes, she is thin... she got sick earlier this year and lost a whole lot of weight and it's hard to put weight back on her...

Well, ya already mentioned what I saw when I looked at her...I'm not a fan of her head but in other pics you have put up ( I believe it was her) She had some wonderful soft eyes. I was mostly impressed by how much you care for her!
Lol. My family tells me that I care for my horses too much... I agree, her head is a little... coarse, but she's still cute! Lol. She had her eyes closed in these pictures... XD!
she is really nicely put together but one thing that i can pick on that isn't changeable is the length from her croop to the point of her tail.
but with a bit of muscel and a bit of cleaning up u will have a nice horse on ur hands!
Lol. Thanks. Once she is put back into work, and her muscle bui8lds back up, she'll look a lot better. When she's muscled up, she looks more like a Quarter Horse than a Tennessee Walker.
she looks cow hocked.
Thanks. She is a bit cow hocked... Lol...
I love the way she always looks like she is smiling. Her lips kind-of curl up and it's just adorable. I see nothing wrong with her head. I think she looks kind and gentle just relaxing there saying "momma take the pics and let's get on with life..." :)
White hair on the withers....she's been either ridden hard in her previous life or an ill fitting saddle!
As for the white hair on her withers, her old saddle (synthetic... hate them) became stretched out and thus, the white hair. I've got a leather saddle now that is fitted for her... the white hair is slowly going away...
Down hill, pigeon-toed, cow-hocked, and I can't point it out but I'm not one for her neck. Needs much more muscling. Seems like an angel though.
