Have a Fox Trotter gelding for sale
Sorrel, He is my brother-i-law's horse so he knows more abou tage but i thin he said he was 9 (he doesnt have internet access)
I have the horse at my place now because i have been riding him since Jason has too many to work alone....
He isnt for a novice...he likes to go
he doesnt like standing still and tends to turn circles...he needs alot of riding...if you put to harsh a bit in his mouth he will sling his head at you, he is smoother at a slow gait but doesnt want to go slow
he needs work, if i didnt have kids that wanted to ride barrels i would buy him because i like his personality
apparently he was mistreated at one time because he is scared of people, i have to have a bucket of feed to catch him and if you walk to fast around him he backs away from you...i have gotten him to where he bridles easier, at first he didnt want you to touch his ears...he is getting alot better and learning to trust more...he has tried to turn around at things he didnt know about but i have been able to push him forward past them( an old broken down trakhoe really messed him up one day but he walked on by with a few kicks and pops of hte reigns)
I believe if someone put some riding to him, he would make a great horse...he has been on several trail tides, water has not been a problem...Jason is asking $900
some updated pics from after our ride the other dayhttp://www.horseforum.com/userpix/3639_topper_009_1.jpg
I think $900 may be a little high in the current market, especially if he needs work and isn't a beginners horse (everyone wants a bombproof horse right now). Tell him to try $400-$600 range.
Sure :) He's a cute boy and with a little weight put on him he'd be a stunner with a good groom :)
he is lovely...and really on a temoerment scale 1- 10 with 1 being bombproof, i would rate him as a 3..he doesnt buck, kick, bite, rear or anything....he is just a little spooky of people in general..not trail spooky..i ride him by alone and he does good...sometimes takes a little coaxing to get him past stuff...but not much...but he doesnt like to stand still..hell turn circles...i think he just needs riding...and more ground work...the first family that had him didnt treat him well so Jason really got him as a project horse....
but now Jason has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes...so he is having to thin his herd because the meds are high and he cant afford to keep all his horses..
i talked to him and his bottom dollar is $450.00
im goin to keep riding him to try and work out his kinks...he has improved alot though...used to he wouldnt even let me touch his ears or put a saddle on without running from me...now hell stand still for the saddle and fly spray...and i almost have him lowering his head perfect for a bridle...if i keep him through the summer i might just make a good horse out of him
i started riding him with a hackamore...he seems to do well with that
wowo how cheap are horses over there in america for something along the same as this in england it would be about 1500 pound which is like $2500 to you! is it really expensive to ship horses??
Well Rusty is now sold...for $750!!!!!!!
Congrats to the Wilson family!!!!
