Lookingg for a Working Student Position, Have you heard of these Trainers?
I am looking about for a working student position in Dressage and have seen a couple ads that look promising. I was wondering if any of you know of Susanne Benne of Half Halt stables down in Cocoa Beach, FL and/or Lynne Shpak of Statesman Farm in Woodstock, MD. Has any one ridden with them before or knows of them?
Freedom, I don't know about FL one, but I'm not positive MD person is a real dressage trainer. Because I couldn't find any referrals to her achievements in dressage world nor I heard her name around as a trainer or she was recommended to me when I was looking for one (I've heard she does very nice jewelry though!).
If anyone has heard of anyone looking for a working student, please let me know. I don't have my heart set on these trainers, just in the process of looking for and contacting the right barn:) I am looking for a dressage position that is live-in and will hopefully allow me to bring my horse. I am 22, female, single college graduate who has been working with and around horses since I was 14. I currently live in NC but will def consider moving out of state. Any leads would be awesome as I am seriously searching for a position !
Freedom, is it dressage-only? I know couple eventing trainers looking for students usually.
Well I have jumped before and even did a little eventing in High School but I am looking for a position to focus on improving my dressage skills.
I saw this from the PVDA classified section. Hope it helps!

Thanks! It helps to have some outside help :)
I've met Susanne Benne at a few schooling shows in the area. Her horses and students look great, but I can't tell you much more than that, unfortunately. I've never ridden with her or spoken with anyone who has. The only other thing I know about Half Halt is that the board is expensive.
Good luck with your search!
Freedomhowler, I'm in NC, and though I'm not in the dressage circle, so I can't give you names, you may want to check around the Southern Pines or Raleigh areas. Lots of big money people showing in those areas, therefore, usually good trainers at those barns as well.
I took a few lessons with Sussane. She is more than qualified and if you have a chance, Id take it. She is as simple as a google to look up and does most of her showing in wellington.
