Critique dressage practice test please!
Hi! Our first schooling show is 10 days away. :) Would love a critique on our practice of Intro A. Sorry it's a bit blurry in the beginning but gets better. Would love any and all feedback on me, horse, etc. This is our first try at dressage. His background is hunter/jumper. Would also love to know your thoughts on his conformation and which discipline you might think he would excel in.
He is FABULOUS on trails, quiet and unflappable. Many have told me hunter pleasure is his "look" but would love any opinions. He is a good, good boy! Thanks!
Your trainer can give much better critique than anyone here , as we cannot see so well.
Get Free walk "freer and bigger" . Get lots of points there.
I can't see a whole lot, but what I could pick out, you should sit back a lot more. You are sitting very forward. Try to roll your hips back under you, that made my transition from hunt to dressage better. Also, on your down transition from trot to walk, it looked like you were waiting for him to walk before you stopped posting. My one instructor ALWAYS got on me for that. Sit and then ask for the walk. It will make the transition feel a lot smoother and more natural. :) He seems to have a very rhythmic and even trot, which is great! I agree with tinyliny, try to get his free walk as forward as you can. Judges tend to focus on that a lot! Great job so far though!
