Showing Help!
I have my 16.2hh Belgium warmblood mare who im entering into a show on Sunday.. she is going into the hunter class now im confused what i can use bit wise i ride her in a myler snaffle at the moment and a Jeffereys hunter saddle is that okay to go in with her normal tack on?

I also am showing a Andalusian in the riding horse class and foreign breed class now he is ridden in a pelham with double reins and an Isabell worth dressage saddle are dressage saddles allowed in a riding horse class?

Thank you x

I have to say that Generaly the spanish breeds do not Fit in well in the riding horse class. The riding horse class is not for any ridden horse (as is the mistake of many showing newbies) it is a perticular type and it tends to be TB or the lighter warmbloods.

Dressage saddle in a riding horse class will entirely depend on the level of show. If it is affiliaed and the judge rides then you will have a problem as most showing judges hate dressage saddles.

Idealy a hunter should be in a double or a pelham, however at unaffiliated shows you will get away with a snaffle.

When you say hunter saddle what do you mean? a workinghunter saddle (as in straight cut with only a very tiny knee roll)?

this is a top class riding horse.

The main thing with the spanish breeds is that they have a very differernt movement to a riding horse and they are generaly heavier.

Don't worry we all have to start somewhere! best to ask questions now rather then look silly in the class!!

i've been showing for over 20 years and mainly affiliated, county level and RIHS & Hoys qualifiers.
