body sleezy as fly sheet?
I have a body size sleezy for my horse. I was wondering if this could be used as a "fly sheet" and to protect from the sun as she burns.
I think it would be to warm?
I'd be worried about breathability, heat, sweat being trapped, and rubbing. Beyond that, they aren't made to stand up to any sort of abuse - I'm sure they would tear very quickly, and I'm fairly sure they wouldn't have any effect on pests like mosquitos.
Most the horses at my barn hate sleezys and rub them off. But it might be ok if your horse is ok with it
well my horse doesn't mind them at all..which is nice..I let her wear them in her stall....I will get a fly sheet..just was seeing if it was a good idea. Thanks!
Also..I have the HARDEST time finding a fly sheet in my horses size..she needs a 70 inch,.
JustDressageIt pretty much got all my concerns. I will add however that I'm prerry sure there are UV resistant flysheets out there.

There are 9 70" sheets listed on this one website alone:
70" isn't an odd size, and should be fairly easy to find.
This is my reccomendation:
well I know it's not an odd size. I should rephrase this but I meant at our feed/horse stores. I had one I really liked but it was a bit snug.I would even do a 72"...maybe a lot of horses are the same size as mine.
I cannot afford a $99 sheet but thank you for the recommendation. I think I will try a Kool coat as it provides UV rayz protection. I will also have to get a new fly mask with the long nose.
