Hunter show critique
 
So, I posted these videos before, but I didn't really get too much feed back.

These are from my last show. I have a show this weekend and I wanted to know what I need to work on for the next show. It's the series final and I want to do well.

Im not very good at critiques but one thing that I see is that your horse is crooked for most of the jumps. His hindquarters are not following his front at points.

To fix this I would work on circles and lots of them! Make sure he is producing a good bend and on a straight line.

As for you I think you are a nice rider and I know absolutly nothing about hunters so Ill leave it at that :)

In the first video it looks like your toes are pointed out. You need to get your toes in and your heels down.

You seem to have some issues finding distances, you chip a lot before the jump, and his front end lands to the right of where he takes off and where his hind end does.

Also, I couldn't tell, it looked like he was crossfiring sometimes, but I think one time you simplechanged it to fix it which was good.

Of course, I have no idea what I am talking about. I am very inexperienced at critiquing, but I am trying haha. Hes a gorgeous horse, I love giant greys. Good luck at the series final!!!

Looks pretty good. You're not trying to jump for your horse. You're staying up and letting him come to you which is always good.

I think adding impulsion would help your straightness problem. He seems squirmy and not sure he really wants to get there. I'm also currently working on straightness. One exercise I'm having some success with is setting up a fence at 3:00 & 9:00 O'clock. Leave the rest of the arena open for 20 meter circles. Pick up a canter and establish a good quality canter on a 20 meter circle. Stay on the circle until it's metronome perfect. When you're happy with the rhythm, come off the circle out of the corner and jump the fence. Then immediately start circling again at the other end and repeat. It's a fun exercise. Hopefully it will work for you too!

Thank you. Ill try that exercise.

I do tend to anticipate the jump and lean forward too soon...if the jumps were any higher she would stop or run out. I've been working on sitting and waiting for the jump.
