Is my horse gaining muscle tone? Confirmation?
 

Hello!

A couple of months ago, I posted a photo of my OTTB mare, Venus. Well, I've got an "after" photo! She's just now getting her "stamina" back, so we haven't worked heavily on collection. But, I think she's looks pretty good! The first photo was taken on February 20, she is wet in the picture, and she had been out of work for a while due to injuries. The second picture was taken just this morning, she has been clipped since the first photo, and she just got a bath! :) But, keep in mind in the second photo that her front end is closer to the camera then the back end. She didn't want her picture taken. :wink:

Also, last time I asked for comments on her confirmation and I would love to hear more opinions. I'm thinking about breeding this mare to a WB stallion in the future and want to know if that would be a good idea or not.

Her neck muscles show definite improvement and she has more gluteal muscle definition and more gaskin. She still has those very upright pasturns and way of being in her tip toes in the front.
She is pretty, but kind of light of bone, especially in the hocks. But , I am not a pro, especially with thbds.

Gorgeous mare!! I like her build a lot and she looks in great condition too.

I recently switched to a new farrier who is vet recommended and is EXCELLENT! She has only had one shoeing and is showing some improvement. After a few more shoeings, I'm going to post pictures of her feet. But right now they aren't perfect yet.
I kind of thought she was a little "dainty" too. Do you think that being bred to a warmblood would balance that out, though?

She's gorgeous and her condition is definitely improved. Love her color in the second picture better, too. LOL.
