Are there special rules for Friesian Stallions ?
I was told that Friesian Stallion can be shown by a person under the age of 18. Is this true by USEF rules. :-?
I was told Fresian stallions behavior is diffrent than most stallions?
I have heard this rule as well. Not sure as Friesians are not common in the show ring around where I am. There is a user on here that owns a friesian called Keegan, I would ask her. Sorry, I forget the name lol.
To my knowledge any stallion cannot be shown by anyone under 18. Might be different for other countries though
It depends on the show rules. Some places restrict stallions being handled by youth, but not all.
As for temperment of a friesian stallion, they are no diffrent than any other stud. The diffrence is in the breed itself. They are, for the most part, kind and gentle, but have no clue they are big.
^^ Oh ok :D
I've never heard of the 18+ rule, but I would imagine it would depend on the individual rules of whichever keuring/show/property/etc you're at.
I've heard only praises to high heaven about how gentle Friesian stallions are. I remember one story where an owner's daughter got out of the house and ended up in the stallion's pasture... When the mom/owner found her, she was sitting on the ground playing with the stallion's feet, the horse being as gentle as could be.
But of course, there will be exceptions to every rule, whether the exception is a gentle stallion or an aggressive stallion.
I know approved Friesian stallions are also judged on their stable manners, along with other criteria, so that would promote the breeding of gentle traits.
Depends onthe show. Many, if not most, shows restrict stallions to those over 18. AMHA (minis) allows younger, I want to say 12 but I could be wrong.
