How much do you pay for a vet check?
How much does it cost where you live to get a vet check? I was thinking $150-$160 but i was surprised to see it was $265.
I'm no expert on this and this will be the first time i'm taking him to the vet with me owning him.
Also do they give shot or is that separate?
I pay $160 for my vet to come out to do yearly stuff. But he only does Coggins and Rabies, I do my own shots which saves money. He just gives me a list of what ones I need.
So including the shots I have to buy I pay a total of: $205
That's nice. My step dad know how to give shot. i'll ask the vet what kind he needs and we can do it our selfs. Thanks for sharing that.
I pay 185$
The vets I work for charge $ 35 for the exam and whatever shots are given. If they go on a ranch call, it is between #
$25 and $35 extra in the valley and up to $50 for out of the valley
Our shots are $15 for rabies and depending on what shots you get, anywhere from $25-40 per vaccination
My last vet bill was like..almost $400.
That was for shots, some chiro, teeth floating, and a chunk of the farm call (our vet came up one day and did everyone's shots and teeth and chiro).
A farm call alone for our vet is $120, but she's about an hour and a half away. The invoice is buried in my emails so I can't remember exactly how much everything is. I am fairly certain chiro is $115. I think the shots and teeth were about those prices too because I think my chunk of the farm call was about $30.
For a check itself, I think I had to pay $200+. $120 for her to come up, $40 for tranqing, and a bit more for actually checking her out. (I came back from Christmas break and had a lame horse with odd scrapes all over her hind leg. She determined it looked like rope burn. I don't even know. It was kind of a waste of money because the next day they were mostly scabbed over and within a couple days she was walking fine again.. grr)
