Bit for Dressage?

Let me describe my horse a little bit for you:

-8 (going on 9 on May 22nd) year old Hungarian Half-Bred (Kisber Felver)
-15.2hh
-Very Strong and VERY fast!
-and stubborn :)
-his favorite bit of choice out of my three: oval mouth elevator

I own the following:
-Loose Ring french
-Baucher french
-oval mouth elevator

He gets very tense and hard on his mouth when we get into the dressage ring and will fight against my hands (basically set his mouth against the bit and refuse to go round or give) I feel bad because i want to give with my hands but if i slip the reins he will want to go forward, i try to use alternating pressure on the reins but he just ignores it. Someone once told me that he might like a d-ring snaffle.

What are your opinions on such a bit for his type of horse? Do you reccomend anything else?

Thanks!
