Fundraisers For Equestrian Teams ~ Help!
So our equestrian team is looking for ideas for fundraisers. We want to get jackets and rent out the showgrounds before the meets....Which....is $400 an hour  Ouch.
So here's our ideas so far...
- "How Hard Can It Be?" Gymkhana. Football boys are gonna ride our horses in a small Gymkhana. After all, How hard can this horse-riding thing be, boys?
- 50/50 at the 4th of july and sports events. A classic :)
- Raffling off a donated truckload of shavings at a show in the summer.
We could really use some help. We'll do carwashes if we have to but hehehehe....No one wants that if it can be avoided xD
I would not suggest the whole "boys" thing. Would not think you could find a place that would accept that liability-putting non-riders on random horses....just not a good idea.
Like the raffle and 50/50. Those are pretty routine ideas.
I have no idea what your facility/resources are, but, here are a few things that come to mind:
-have a horsey bake sale (or a regular one, or both)
-If you have the land, host a trail trial or a hunter pace type event. (we charge about $35/horse)
-Have a horsey wash (if you are at a large enough facility)
-if you all have the ability-maybe post signs in show barns for braiding, mane pulling, etc.
-host a tack swap. Our local 4-h just did one. THey got the local Tractor supply to allow them to set up in the parking lot. THey also advertised there a few weeks prior, and sold tables for $25/each to outsiders. They brought some of their horses, had them set up for kids to pet in pens, sold hot dogs, etc. Made it sort of like a carnival. With the right advertising (banners and fliers, etc) it could really be fun and pretty profitable.
We are going to till up the baseball diamond at the school after the 4th parade and we ahve liability wavers. It's a Calcutta (Spelling?) and the riders incentive is they get a percent of the jackpot. They get helmets and all. we did it last year too :)
Thank you for the ideas. ^^ There's only three of us, so some things are difficult.
