Clicking Noise in the Hind End

I have a 15 y/o or so grade quarter type mare who just recently started a clicking noise in her hind end (stifle or hip area?). I'm afraid it may be turning into arthritis, so any ideas on supplements to feed that actually help? I've had her on several different types, but none of them actually help the clicking... Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! She's a great horse!

is it a constant clicking or just maybe once each time you ride?
For supplements I can't help you there...Ryle might be able to though

Any particular gait that she does it at? Or one more frequently? What type of riding? Jumping? Pleasure? Barrel Racing?

It's pretty consistent at the walk and jog for the first hour or so of riding, then it tends to become less noticible. She's in fairly good shape for her age too... :? Anyway, mostly trail riding/pleasure, barrels and poles isn't noticible, but it could be because I'm hanging on for dear life! Anyway, I've retired her from gymkhana this year to give her a break, gymkhana is just too hard on her...

I know she's not a horse....but my mom clicks when she walks. And has for years! She has tried numerous suppliments and seen several doctors. Turns out that the cartlidge (sp) in her knee just pops. It causes her no pain and her knee will eventually wear out. I would call a vet and ask a few questions. it may or maynot be something to cause concern.

I'd talk to your vet. ;)

Could be arthritis settling in.

I'm going through this right now with my 20 yo gelding. I had some improvements with Recovery HA ($$$) and with products like Corta Flex with Glucosamine and Chondroitin. However, my guy is getting really stiff now and uncomfortable, having to even bute sometimes, so with vet we are now going to do Legend. I'm really anxious to see how it will work.
