Gelding for Full Lease/Sale in NE OH.
It is going to be hard for me to post this but I am going to anyways...
I have a 7 year old registered American Saddlebred gelding. He stands at 17hh. Not your typical Saddlebred-- he's probably the laziest ASB ever. He is very well trained, supple, and responsive. He stands for the farrier, clips, hauls, etc. very well. He gives lessons at my barn for beginner saddleseat and huntseat. He also is the "canter" teacher as he has a very rhythmic canter that is easy to learn to. He's very calm; and he loves attention.
He has a navicular cyst in his right front foot. He is on life-long medication for Isoxuprene and we keep him on STP (Stop the Pain) for pain. He would be fine for light work: flat lessons or pleasure riding. Or, he would be happy in retirement as a pasture puff. We don't have any super special shoes on him, just plates with a rolled, squared toe on front and nothing on back.
I will be VERY VERY picky about homing him. He is my first horse and I do not want to do this, but I am looking for a horse to show and we can't afford to have both at this point. I don't want him going anywhere that I cannot trust and especially somewhere that would send him for meat.
