Myler bits...yay or neigh?

I have been looking for a new bit and have had a hard time because she is in a 5 1/2 inch bit. Everything is a 5! Anyway, I noticed Myler regularly offers a 5 1/2 in most of their bits. What is the overall opinion of these bits? Thanks!

i like the myler bits and have had several. just as a little side note, they do run "large" as myler measures their bits a little differently than "normal" bits because of the way they are shaped. example - my pony would normally have gone in a 4.75" bit but with a myler she needed a 4.5".

Good to know about the size! Thanks!

They are excellent bits, but of course, like anything else, they vary greatly from style to style. What specifically are you looking at?

She is fairly green, getting the hang of the neck rein, and still learning her transitions. I have been riding in a full cheek, but since she is doing well with a neck rein I would like to move to something more like a curb.

They make some nice slotted snaffles and Pelhams.

It's the only bit my horse will take- we use a wide-barrel comfort snaffle (eggbutt).

I do think they are very nice, however my own horse didn't like it much (I tried one of the mildest ones).

I own several Myler bits. I love their 3 pc snaffles and ride most of my youngsters in one. I got my first one years ago after talking with Dale Myler at an expo and he was great, he took the time to answer questions and shoot the breeze about bit function before he did his clinic. They make a huge variety of bits and have something for just about any horse.
