What color tack for a Bald-Faced Bay Splash Paint?

I'm wanting to pick up some western tack for my new mare and I am super picky about having everything look right, but I also like to look smart and cute, and dang it's stressing me out a little. Its easier on a solid colored horse.
I don't know what to get her.

Here she is:

I REALLY like this color saddle, light oil with the black seat, and with a black saddle blanket, and black bridle. I think it would look really good. She has a black mane and black/red/white tail. But I have ZERO western fashion smarts, I know what looks good to me, but maybe I'm a dork in the western world hehe.

I just don't know, I need seasoned western eyes to help! >.<

i think that's a niiice looking saddle, but of course it's up to you. do you think light oil looks good on her? i know black will.

are you trying to look classy? or do you want some color? i think a light pink, purple or lime green, or royal blue would look smart on her. but it all depends on you. and what you like.

I second the royal blue!
Or just go with a dark havana leather. can't go wrong with that. Personally I would stay away from the lighter colored tack. You dont really want to distract from all the gorgeous color shes got.

I second Tamibunny's statement about the light oil distracting from that mare's gorgeous color. You want to showcase your horse, not your saddle, IMHO. Have you looked at a nice medium oil finish? Something that will almost match her coloring? You could still go with the black bridle and black saddle blanket that way.

Hmmm that's a good idea. I saw a photo of a horse similar to her where the saddle matched the horses color with black blanket and bridle and it looked really good. Ugh decisions! >.< Its a big purchase and I have to get it right. :/ I wish we could try it all on first lol

This photo is what made me fall in love with the lighter colors with the black. I just really like it! >.<

Here's a paint where the saddle matches the color, and I think it looks really good, of course, I can't afford something with that much silver, I'm sure. But I think it looks really snazzy.

I'm looking for sophistication with a bit of fun. I guess that's why I dig that little barrel saddle so much. It's pretty, but a little edgy at the same time.

That's why I love the tack stores in my town. You can leave your credit card number and take the tack on a 24hr loan to try it on your horse to see if it fits and looks good. I can't tell you how many times I used this option last year when I was trying to fit a saddle on my 8yo arab/saddlebred gelding.

If you're buying online, that makes it really difficult, unfortunately.

Does that barrel saddle come in any other colors?

That particular one only comes like that, or with white rawhide on the horn and seat. Its a cheapy double t, but I don't mind. It comes with a 5 year warranty, and I only need it to last 3 hehe.

This show saddle is affordable...but I guess it still qualifies as light color though...

Darn you internet and your uncertainties! We have a couple of local saddle shops, but I can't afford $1400 for a saddle. :/

I actually think that saddle would look amazing on your mare. I like the mix of light and medium oils in the tooling.

I vote for that last saddle, to be honest. That's a nice-looking rig.

Thank you for you input. I'm so used to seeing english, and I don't want to do any fashion crimes on my horse. (I know western riders can be tough on the fashion, and I would rather not be looked at like an idiot if I take her to my first saddle club in a no-no set up.)

Just out of curiosity, what would be something to get you laughed at? Zebra prints or something?
