Is he a bay?
Ok, so I have this colt whos a year and 4 months. I always thought he was a bay untill someone asked me what color he was because they noticed he had no black on his legs. So he looks like a typical bay horse, for the most part. He is a deep red body color like most bays, and has the black mane and tail. The thing is though, he doesn't have one single black hair on any of his legs. Is he still a bay?

He may be wild bay? I believe they don't have black points on their legs but do on mane and tail

Actually it is really common for bays to be born with light, creamish legs. The black will come in when he sheds :-)

He could be a wild bay, like has been mentioned, or maybe he could be a liver chestnut. Hard to know without a picture.

Okay, I will try and get a picture if I can find my camera charger. Can liver chestnuts have a black mane?

Some of them do, some of them have more reddish looking manes. The more extreme ones look almost identical to black horses.

My horse has been called a liver chestnut and sounds very similar to how you describe your horse.
Would love to see a pic of yours
I don't have a recent one of mine either
