Eventing Lesson Barn near Lansing, MI?

Next year I'll be a junior in high school, and I'm shooting for MI State so I can be a large animal vet (specifically equine, of course!). I'm going to sell my current horse before then, and then taking eventing lessons while I'm in college so I can be prepared to event afterwards. (If that makes sense, or if I need to clarify, let me know)

Now what this thread is about is finding a barn near Lansing that gives eventing lessons for those without their own horse. I've been having trouble, and since I know a LOT of users on here event and at least a handful are in Michigan, I'd give it a shot. I'm not really concerned about price right now, just as close to Lansing as possible. :)

As far as the WHY, I'd like to get an idea of where I'll be before leaving for college. My parents especially want me to go there & maybe take a few private lessons so I know how the barn works & I make sure I like it. I'm really excited about this, because usually my parents aren't too keen on anything horsey.

Alright, off topic much? Anyways, if anyone knows of an eventing barn near Lansing that gives lessons regardless of horse ownership, that would be great. Otherwise, I think I may use this to post what barns I find on my own for others feedback.

My trainer takes her lessons from a woman up in Lansing. I will check with her to see who it is exactly. She hauls her horse up there, so not sure if they have lesson horses available or not.

One of my Besties lives in Lansing and she drives to Lowell/Ada, to train with her Coach at Thomet Stables. They have a full barn of horses. Contact Thomet and see what they can do for you.

There's also Nottingham Equestrian Center in Lansing, you can contact them and see what they can do for you.

Thank you MIEventer! I was hoping you'd stop by. (:
Thomet Stables, huh? I'll definitely check that out, as well as the Equestrian Center.
Thanks again!

You are welcome - give them both a shout and see what you can come up with.
