What do you think?
I do not agree with what Pat Parelli says, I have used SOME of his techniques and they did work. But I do not put my thinking in a box, I keep an open mind to training techniques, and I use what works with each individual horse.
Anyways that being said....My friend said this the other day and I have to agree with it, we both think the same way and use most of the same things with our horses, in other words our training methods are very similar.
The horse does not care how much you know until he knows how much you care. (Pat Parelli)
The only way a horse knows if you care is by how you treat them and what your relationship is like.
You will only ever get out of a relationship what you put into it, no more, no less.
I could not agree more and I think about this whenever I work with a horse, even if its a horse I have known for years or if I just met the horse.
Just wondering what you thought about the above statement?
WE, as in me and my son, use alot of the Parelli techniques.....though I am not really a "fan" as in thinking he is God.
Clinton Anderson, however, is a little too...intense ...... for me.:-)
We have found that the Parelli ground work really helped us with our OTTB.....though we had to use the Anderson halter on him at the start. (has two extra knots} He now does well in the Parelli training halter, which is a bit kinder and gentler....though we keep the Anderson one on standby for bad days. ]
