Native boy :) What to expect?

Hello, i have a 4 and a half 4ear old gelding, we think hes a new forest x TB.. but it doesnt say on his passport..
I am wondering what kind of traits i should be expecting as im used to dealing with TB's.
I will upload a picture of him, but please note, in the winter hes too fluffy !! and his mane WAS to his shoulder and beautiful untill his previous owner decided to hog him. I am in the process of growing it all back..

If there is any sites regarding native breeds, or new forest ponies, i would like to know about them as he is my first bought horse and i am doing my best teaching him, but i want to know about his ancestors, and 'wild' life.. Also, things i can do with showing him... i have never even been to a show before, so i need to start from scratch :D !!

Thank you !!!!

Working Hunter classes would probably suit him since you're not sure of breed. I love New Forests, I used to ride a mare who was taken off the New Forest, fab little thing and excellent jumper.

Short show on the flat then you're expected to jump a small course.
