Treeless Saddles

I started out riding in a traditional English saddle, and have recently started splitting time doing that and using a treeless. At first, I was not a fan.. it's an adjustment! I felt unbalanced and as if I was practically riding bareback.. but now I love it! It's comfortable and has made me a better rider. Do any of you guys ride treeless? How do you like it compared to regular saddles?

I have a treeless saddle. Big mistake. Can't really blame it on the saddle - treeless saddles and extra large riders are not a good combination. I felt a bit insecure in my treeless saddle, but would probably still be using it if my friend hadn't needed her superpad back. I think the saddle did help me with my balance, though - especially since I felt so insecure in it.

My only big complaint about the treeless saddle was that it kept slipping. It's a good thing I use a really tall mounting block - there was no way I could mount from the ground in a treeless.

I have to use a big mounting block- actually, I have to use one anyway (I have bad knees) but I literally just step over and on to the treeless before I even put my foot in a stirrup.

That's what I have to do, too. I need a mounting block nearly as tall as a picnic table - the mounting block at the trail head we usually go to is perfect. I need son in law to build me one like that!
