Build topline?

Hey. I have another question about Diesel. I havent worked with him much over the winter, but I have been since about march. But he seems to be getting in shape and building muscle in his shoulders and hindquarters but not in his neck? Any suggestions?

Working in a frame will build neck muscles. Also working on a stretch downwards and working on flexion (both lateral and vertical) will help a ton.

ive noticed a huge improvement in my mares topline since i started doing a lot of work on getting a nice collected trot with nice flexion around corners/circles etc. ive been working her a lot more over trot poles to. ive been noticing a marked improvement the last few weeks since doing this so yeah, pretty much what JDI said ;)

Working the horse on hills is very beneficial. That really helped develop my horse's top line in all areas.

lunging with a chambon can be beneficial too.

But just make sure with the chambon that the horse is relaxed and using his back, and not just having his head forced in place.
