Guinea pigs, who has them?
so one of my friends rescued 2 piggies and didn't realize one was a boy and one was a girl, so she gave one of the little babies to me, i assume she's a Calico America. but i don't know ?
i believe my sister decided on naming her Twix.
I used to have one. He was great. Just make sure to supplement her diet with Vitamin C and lots of fresh fruit and veggies along with the grain. ;)
I love them. They were literally the first animal I had ever owned.

well i'll get fruits and veggies from the produce stand owned by the girl i got her from :) and she'll point us in the right directions for vitamins, she likes tp ut the vitamins in their water for them.
Great . When I had my piggie I used a sock to cover the water bottle because the vitamins are light sensitive. I miss having him but I sure don't miss cleaning the cage. Ha ha. Mine loved to graze outside in a little corral my dad made for him.
Your cat doesn't look to thrilled about the idea lol. He's cute!!
i have one! she is also a calico and of american breed. her name is gabby because she never stops her squeaking :p when i come home, when you feed the dogs, when you feed her, when you open the drawer of thr fridge, when you feed her, when i eat, when i make my lunch etc. sqeak sqeak sqeak... i love it :)
lots of vita c, always have hay in there... it should make up half thier died, 1/2 hay, 1/4 food and 1/4 fresh veggies and fruit. mine loves kiwi, banana, orange, lettuce ( no ice berg lettuce though!), carrots cucumber, honey nut cheerios, and everything else you put in the cage thats remotely edible :P
they're a lot of fun too! gotta love them piggies!!
heres a pic of mine
hehe lovestory she NEVER looks happy lol thats her normal expression, she always looks so angry. lol
hehe gabby is cute and seems like she has alot of personality, we are still learning about our girlie. is there anything they really can't have? we were worried about giving her something that may be poisonous.
I have 3, and I love them :) They make great pets.
Keep them out of any drafts. Away from windows, fans, air conditioners - they are very suseptable to ear infections, chest infections.
TONS of hay. I pile my cage with hay, they love it, thrive on it and it keeps their tummies full. They are sorta like horses, where they have to graze continuously to keep their digestive systems healthy.
As you can see, my Pigs love their hay...lol
They get Watermelon, Apples, not a big fan of oranges. They love their lettuces and carrots.
I don't do the vitamin in the water. They get plenty in their hay, their alfalfa pellets and the fruits and veggies I give them on a daily basis.
Clean their cage once a week. Clip their nails on a regular basis as well, and always check their feet for any type of piggy diseases - they are prone to bumble foot, but moreso if you leave them in a filthy cage where they are standing on filth.
I put my pigs in a rubbermaid tub when I clean their cage...
This is Bindi. I named her that because of that swirl on her forehead. She's my favorite.
Maple on the left, and Mochiatto on the right - arguing about a piece of scrumptious hay...
All in all, they are great pets. There are many websites out there on Guinea Pigs and what they can eat and cannot eat. There is a lot of information out there, you just have to search. Just Google.
My friend had two guinea pigs, absolutely very cute little things..
Ahem... actually I just popped up to say that your guinea pigs are very adorable :-). Now, carry on...
