15 months old now

So Rodeo has been growing quite a bit!! Not sure if you see anything drastically different from the last confo pics I posted about 2 months ago, but here are some pictures from the other day....Let me know what you think.

As far as what I see still is that he is still downhill, but he's young so, he's "posty" in the hind legs, and he is over at the knee.

I dont know a whole lot about angles, but does his fetlock, and shoulder angle/fetlock and hip angle match up pretty well? Any other major confo faults that you see? Short in back/long neck, ect, ect. I was told he has a short neck, but I dont really think he does. Maybe its just me.

Also, as far as his confo seems to be looking, what does he look like he'd excel in? Thanks

all young horses tend to "seesaw" butt up or down. He's in the downhill stage but will hopefully level off by the time he's full grown. I'd say his neck is a tad short, but nothing alarming. Based on the pictures it seems in most shots his hind feet are pointing outwards slightly. If this happens most of the time he may be very slightly splay footed (maybe eventually cow hocked, i dunno). If this is the case you can talk to your farrier and he can try to help correct this. I wouldn't worry about it much though, my horse is slightly cow-hocked and she's 100% fine. Other than that i have little other confo experience. I must say your guy is quite cute, and he seems like a relaxed fellow.

^ Thank you!! Honestly, he looks toed out in the hind, but he was standing like a goof all day that day....he usually doesnt stand like that what so ever.....Thanks again!!

lol, sometimes they stand weird. My mare has the ability to twist each hoof in a separate direction. I once rode an OTTB who would pick up and stretch other hooves while you were cleaning one..... she loved balancing on two legs!

^^LOL, thats too funny!!! I was actually working on farrier positions, and working with him on his feet and what not. I stretched out each leg, and thats how he stood once he started falling asleep lol

Thats funny about that OTTB mare tho!!

it was rather scary though.... she had no balance and was a complete klutz, so she'd randomly lean into you or the wall. She actually dented the wall once..... My mare always squares up in the front but never the back while riding, lol. She looks like how your guy is standing in the last pic. She always squares up in the back when tacking up though. It's all confusing. Good luck getting your guy to square up (all the time) =)

Wow! Im sure it was if she didnt have any balance like you said!!! Rodeo has pretty decent balance, he just likes to stand like a goof!!!! Thanks :)
