Oh dear that's terrible. I hope that he will be able to recover financially from that.

It's been a tough year for cattle farmers in the Dakotas. We know folks that lost calves this spring due to the mud. Too cool for the grass to start properly in the pastures and then we went straight to hot.

Unfortunately that is happening everywhere. I'm sure we've lost a number of other animals, including horses, through out the country within the past week. It is very important to take extra precautions to makes sure your animals are cool and have lots of fresh water!
