Okay, so I've been thinking that everyone should put on here something they REALLY want to brag to people about that they've accomplished with their horse or whatever, because I always want to brag about things my horse and I have done, but nobody ever really wants to hear it, so here's everyone's chance to brag till the cows come home about how great their horse is!!
So, I'm going to brag about my horse!
Yesterday I went for a ride, and my horse is 22 years old, been there done that, amazing old guy. He's still got a ton of spunk and can keep right up with (actually, he was going faster than) my friend's little arab gelding.
Anywho, I took him out for a trail ride, he neck reins, and I'm all natural horsemanship crazy but I've never actually done any sort of liberty stuff or whatever, I'm still learning, I just love the concept! So I decided it would be interesting to see how well my horse responds to being bridleless! I only EVER ride him with just a rope halter (I've never used the bit on him) and so I just put the reins down and went for a whole hour without using the reins!
I was so proud of him, he responded perfectly!
Anyways, I just wanted to tell someone about it lol, and my friend saw and she was like AMAZED because her horse was not really listening very well haha.
So... now it's your turn!
Yesterday, my yearling learned voice cues for walk, trot, whoa and back. Within a few circuits of the arena, he had mastered the cues. Tonight, I'm going to see what happens off-lead.
I have ridden in two different countries, not including America. Right now I'm riding in Germany, I have my second lesson in two days. Lady acted like a 8 year old dressage trained Warmblood the last time I rode her. I was so proud of her, she has a lot of fire and passion and has been through A LOT. Did I mention she is an 19 year old OTTB.
PS. I feel really bad about bragging, but it's kinda fun.
This year at 4-H and home I worked REALLY hard with Buttercup and almost everyone was complimenting us and our progress and she amazed me every ride
We also went on to win the Pony Grand Champion title overall for the year and I won the Mental Attitude Award that only one person gets each year.
Plus, I was also voted onto the council this year.
But I was mostly just proud of all our hard work paying off and everyone noticing.

Here is my brag I bought Mr G a few years ago and turned him into a dressage horse,
You can see how far he has come, and he is just the best horse, (but don't tell my other guys)
I am very proud of all my horses, but particularly proud of my Arabian, Magic, who just won First place in Sport Horse against 14 seasoned, well-schooled Arabians on our First show. She received a score of 93, which is pretty amazing, and she earned points for it.
Through the years, I heard the "Oh her mares'll are crap; they'll never do anything." And now, when Magic has truly earned her due, I hear grumbling and "oh it doesn't count because..fill in the blank.." from those with their nose out of joint after being proven wrong.
Yes I AM proud of her, and YES, I will post her accomplishment! Call it bragging if you like; I call it EARNED!!!
Never let people keep you from reaching your goals; what they say doesn't matter.. ;)
The horse that i show and jump and do basically everything with his name is Stetson, but he is used as a lesson horse for riders of all levels so he gets a lot of crap from them. But after only like 2 weeks we nailed our extended and collected trot. We had the best lesson we've had in a long time we also nailed down out flying lead changes while jumping and a counter canter went flawlessly!!!! So proud of him and I'm waiting to kick butt in out next show ;)
It may sound small, but Isabel and I had a good 5-6 strides of "real" trotting last week, where I finally felt her lift her back, for the first time ever!
She's a 16 year old Morgan mare who spent most of her life as a kids' backyard pony, but has been pretty game over the last few months when it comes to learning how to use her body and do very preliminary dressage.
Good work egro!!
I am so proud of my mare. This past weekend we rode over a tarp, carried a flag, dragged a tree and a tire. Plus she learned her canter cue and picked up the right lead too. She is a three year old TWH. Her first show was 2 weeks ago, her first time in a trailer, stalled for three days, and took 3rd in Junior Horse western.
