Announcement- Acquisition of New Mares to Obsidian Arabians
Obsidian Arabians would like to officially announce the fortunate acquisition of three lovely mares from Julie Hanvold of Willowspring Arabians, who has retired from breeding. I am thrilled to be entrusted with the care and future of her hand selected prized mares, and will endeavor to not only forge ahead with my plans for breeding and showing, but also incorporate her many years of knowledge and time spent dedicated to producing Arabians with intellect, gentleness, grace, beauty, sound minds, and solid conformation. It is a true honor to have such a veritable “essence” of such a great Lady’s life’s work…
It is my great honor to present the following mares, formerly of Willowspring Arabians:

BA Chevelle: Double Padron top and bottom:

We all know Padron..
Here's a great tribute to him:

I can't express how fortunate I feel to have a mare with 2 lines to him so close up.. and her exquisite beauty is just beyond expectation.

She has a bit of Spanish with Barich de Washoe and Zancudo:
Barich was known for his prepotency and for producing extremely typey Arabs, though he, himself wasn’t..

More to come on the second and third mare...

Echo Empress: an Echo Magnifficoo daughter, and what a prize she is!
Sired by: Echo Magnifficoo ( Aladdinn Echo) X Dafila II (Gual Ibis)
Echo M daughters are known for their prepotency in out producing themselves, and she is no exception. Breeding barns have been after this mare for years! More than half Spanish, she produces a huge eye, refinement, type, and movement- true to Spanish standard. The Spanish were extremely selective in their breeding..

Thanks Joe! They are just amazing mares. I couldn't be happier to have them join my family. I've been keeping this little secret for months's a great thing to finally share it..
