Leaving the lights on!
Just a question. I have recently heard that when your horse goes over due (gestation) Leaving the lights day and night on in the horses stable can actually help induce labour. What is everyone elses opinion on this? :)

Chaz heat cycles in mares are more or less controled by the seasons whitch means longer days with more light will put them into their cycle. Down here on the desert there is even a distinctive difference even with all the sun shine we have. It's the longer days that count so I would guess that the lights would make a difference.
Hi there thanx, I just wondered what others thought as i had heard it from someone and felt i should get opinions from others, Thanx again :)

I have heard about the lights keeping them shed out and bringing them in heat more, but not that it actually induces labor, but you never know. I don't see why it couldn't an sure can't hurt to try. :D
