Conformation Critique/Potential in...
Finn is 7 year old grade gelding. I'm aware he's got lower leg issues but I'm interested in what else you can see - good and bad. Also - what do you think he would do well in judging on his conformation?

He's since seen a farrier and all of these pictures were taken in April after I first got him.

Did the new farrier fix his angles and toe length? Because that would help him dramatically. He does need weight and muscle--nothing drastic, but he is lacking.

Legs--I'm not seeing a whole lot wrong. His pasterns look steep than they are because of his toes. He does turn out on both from pasterns, however. Really a pretty well-built horse overall. I don't see him excelling in anything specific but rather see him being a solid all-rounder. Drill team, rodeo queen, pick-up stuff, maybe tall is he?

He's 14.3hh on a good day and yes, the farrier is working on fixing angles. I'm still not 100% happy with the farrier and would love another one but I keep my horse at my grandpa's house and he's very particular and gets very angry if I don't do things "his way." He's 76 years old and he believes "he knows what works." However, the farrier we have now does a very good job if I tell him exactly what I want and need done.

I'd like to do a little of everything. I've ridden hunters and Finn is a finished barrel and drill horse. I do a little of everything - I can't make up my mind about what I like best.
