Tall boots too..tall?

So I have a pair of tall boots that I've owned for almost a year now. When I saw them at the tack shop, I really liked them, and they were a nice convenient price for me! I asked the lady's opinion who was working there that day and she said they fit perfectly, and they felt really good when I had them on. Now I have a lot of people on facebook that I'm friends with that are competitive riders and showers. When I look at their tall boots, they don't look as tall as mine do and I'm wondering if mine are simply too tall for me? I have a picture. (Excuse my terrible foot position! I was trying to re-situate it.)

When I'm standing up and walking around, they do come a tad higher on my knee. I'm only asking because I just don't want to look ridiculous when I'm riding, lol. If they're a bit too tall for me, I can always just sell them and get another pair just a bit shorter on me, or is this something that I can grow out of? I haven't worn them that much, because after I got them I had to stop riding like a month later due to arising hip problems.

Your tall boots have a spanish top so they will look higher than ones that dont
They look right to me.
If they were too tall your knees would let you know!

Those are definately not too tall. You want them as tall as will fit. Boots that are too tall will cover your knee caps and make it hard to bend your knees.

This is going to sound like a stupid question but is there a piece of leather or something around your ankle? :o I'd hate to get a foot stuck in that...

If your boots were too tall you would lose feeling in your legs from your circulation being cut off at the back of your knees and could possibly end up with bruised ankles. Both my sibling and my friend have boots that are too tall on them. My friend gets numbness and ankle bruising, my sibling only gets the numbness.

Thanks for the replies, I had a feeling they weren't overly tall on me, but I just wasn't sure if them being a bit taller than what I've been seeing is normal haha.

No I think that was just the way I was bending my ankle at the time when I was re-situating my foot. Lol I haven't been getting much sleep lately so I apologize ahead of time if I am totally off :P
