i want to try misty western

i think she would look cute in western tack and i was thinking of getting some cheap western tack and just having a bit of fun riding wesern style, what do you think?

I think the more you do with your horse the better! *cheers* for you for even thinking about it! I say do it :D

You could TOTALLY get away with nylon bridle and reins and a synthetic (cheaper) saddle if you are just going to be googing off! You could also do the on-line thing and pick up some tack off e-bay.

OH...... I just thought of this but they make western bridles with super cute rhinestones on them in all sorts of colors.....Weaver I believe is the brand that I saw at my local tack shop. I LOVE the one with pink sparkly jewels...my hubby didn't care for them tho!

Here are a few pictures of what I was talking about. Some of these can get really pricey. The last picture these sell for about $150.

This stuff if fun but not really needed. If you look on the net try searching bling headstalls as well as rhinestone headstalls... more came up with bling

That looks good to me! :D ( I don't know how much that is US monies but I do know ebay offers some good package deals) I would get a saddle pad though I'm not crazy about using just a blanket. They aren't real expensive you can pick up a decent one for about $20 us dollars......they don't have to be real fancy. And I ride in a 16" seat....That is kind of a big butt size...lol My daughter is 13 and 5'2" and weighs around 101-110lbs.......She sits perfectly in a 14" seat.( she uses a barrel saddle) Western and English saddles are measured differently I think. Western saddles are measured from the pommel to the cantle or back of the seat.

ETA- After you talk to your trainer and your given the ok I'd see if you could borrow a saddle before you buy so you know whether you want to try it or not.
