Sorrel vs. Chestnut?

Okay...
This probably has already been asked before and if so just disregard this thread but....
Is there a difference between a chestnut and a sorrel? Or are they the same color but just two different names?

Genetically they are exactly the same. They are both red or ee.

It varies by discipline and/or region as to what the definition is for each color.

Exactly what Nd said.

It does make for fun conversations though.
One person learned that dark horses are one and another person learned that dark horses are the other.....

Just a matter of what your discipline/breed/area calls it.
