Pregnant Rescue Horse No Clue When Shes Due
Its a shame with all the horses out there that a horse ends up at a rescue, then is adopted out, only to find out shes in her last stage of pregnancy. That is what happened with this horse, she is a boarders horse and we were very surprised to find out she is in foal.

I know a lot of u enjoy following a mares hoof prints to tht blessed moment when she finally introduces her baby to the world, so I decided to share some pics and info and maybe accept some guidance in what to expect. as this is all New :-| to me!

I'd say she's due withing 1-2 months but I'm not positive. Have you had a vet out to check her? They'll give you a more precise date and can check the health of mama and baby, good luck though I'll be waiting for baby pictures. ;)

I have a few more pics but they are on another camera from around Aug. 10 - ?. Her owner hasn't had a vet out. She showed a little bit of discomfort, two days ago it appeared she may have been having slight contractions by how she was acting, I've also read (been reading everything) that it may have been the foal getting into position?

Looking at the bag it looks like she might actually foal very soon, usually the belly 'v''s out a bit before foaling but in some cases it might be too subtle to notice. Foals move a lot in the last few weeks, as long as she has someone watching over her she should be able to foal without a problem, but I would keep her on a good weight gain type feed because the foal could really drain a skinny mare like her. Good luck again :)

Just out of curiosity, how much and what are you feeding her? I know she is pregnant, but she should have gained some weight in the time you have had her there. :?
