Used, Western Saddle worth?
I have a few saddles that I no longer use, and since I need a new english saddle I thought, why not sell my extras? Its not like I use them. Honestly I have wayyyy too much tack, I used to have four western saddles, and one english saddle. Then the english saddle no longer fits my horse and I'm ready to move on from borrowing from a friend.
Okay so first of all I have This saddle, but used obviously. It has always been well taken care of, and even though I have owned it for about... 5-6 years it was rode in lightly about 2-3 times a month over those 5 years. I also had an accident in it so it has scratches and dents. Nothing that compromises the stitching or function of the saddle and the tree is fine. It just changes the cosmetic of it. It is a good looking saddle that I have always gotten tons of compliments on at rodeos and gymkhanas. Regular QH bars and a 15in seat. Here is what it looks like (it needs a good oiling, its that time of year that I oil all my tack) I am wanting to say $400-$450:
Next I have a no name barrel saddle. It was given to me a few years back. I never used it. So its been sitting in my tack room forever. I believe it would be a 15in with regular QH bars too. I want to say $200?
Then I have extra cinches and pads that I am willing to part with these as a pack. I could even do a whole package (Halter, lead, bridle/reins, bit, pad, cinch, saddle) I have that much extra stuff. I'm tired of carrying it around from stable to stable and I want it gone. How much is this stuff worth honestly?
Personally I think you are high on the first saddle considering the condition. I would price it at $200-250. What you call a "scratch and dent" is a tear in the leather on the swell and a used saddle is only worth ~1/2 it's new selling price unless it was a custom made.
The second one actually looks like a Dakota but even if it's not, I think with a good oiling it could be worth the $200 you have in mind.
