stud management course
hey guys i was just wondering if i could ask your opinion on this.
next year i'll be in year 10, and i can take a course for stud management. the school and the TAFE are working together for a TEC college in my town, so they have a campus where they have a thoroughbred racing stud, which is where the course is held. it goes for two years, and i was talking to one of the girls that took it and she said it was really good. but my dad disagrees and doesnt think i should work with the racing industry because its corrupt. i don't think i would stay working with the australian racing industry, because i want to travel overseas, and my dream job would be working on a stud. what do you guys think?
I think you should go for it. Stud Management wont mean specificly thoroughbred studs. Although a lot of your prac work will obviously be based around that, the principles will be the same no matter where you work.
In addition being around some higher stung TB studs would be a great experience.
I wish everyone with a stallion would take a course...
I say go for it as well! :D
thanks guys! i think i will take it, there would be heaps of opportunities out there after taking the course, and it's what i love!
I would just like to add that you might make some great connections there as well, and that might kick-start a career. Having a background in formal training is always a bonus for any type of career.
Good luck! Let us know what you decide!
